Facebook's Privacy Issues

I have heard that for quite a while that Facebook have been having problems regarding its privacy before, though it mostly involves identity theft.
Truthfully, before this assignment was given, I have not heard about this major issue before.
Facial recognition technology is both helpful and risky at the same time, as demonstrated in the article where people have been using it to track down people with Facebook accounts. However, there's a good side to this as this technology could also help us identify whoever has been posing as ourselves online.
Despite this issue that has been going around, I would still use Facebook anyway. Facebook is my main source of communication between my friends, my group mates and also my family, as I prefer communicating with people through mediums rather than face-to-face in daily life.

  1. I always wanted to deactivate my Facebook account because of this problem. I know that my personal information can sometimes being revealed to everyone without I noticed it myself too. But unfortunately , Facebook is the only place where I can communicate freely with everyone and most of my new friends that I've met in real life only managed to contact me through this account. Plus , most of discussion group also made through Facebook groups. Do you know how sad that was ? :(
