Internet Censorship

Honestly , the first time I'm reading the article , I suddenly feel annoyed on how people blaming the internet as the main cause of the Prince Harry's nude pictures exposed to the public. The internet (yes , it might be a problem too) but mostly everything was directed or started from those who spread the pictures through internet a.k.a reporters , stalkers , or hackers.

It's the same concept as Facebook privacy issues , most of the users are not protected and can endanger only because of this matter. And as for the censorship , it's still the same thing. I always thought that the internet is going to block me from view some nude webpage but instead , they're not.

There's a time where I want to visit a website (but sadly I forgot the name) and somehow it links me to an unknown webpage which has a lot of nude pictures (which somehow it made me almost close my laptop , too shock to see it and turn away from the monitor and quickly clicked back to the previous webpage) because of the sudden uncensored pictures. Even if you type some of those 'nude' words , I can't guarantee that internet will censored 90% of it even if people requested them to increased the internet censorship.

Facebook Privacy Issue

Mark Zuckerberg co-created Facebook in his Harvard dorm room.

What I really know about Facebook that is it a social networking service launched in February 2004.When talk about social and networking of couse our biodata are needed when comes to socialize. After all the scenario, that I found out its all depend on the user responsibility using the facebook. This is because it doesnt matter we hide our data or not if people commit to do so they will do so in any way.To put a privacy is good but it doesnt mean that your will be secure enough. The more you share on what you do,you like or you went the more likely you can get lots of connection with friends. If you want to make so many privacy,In my opinion facebook not the place this is why because of facebook are close to the community.

Facebook Privacy Issue

I have also heard about this issue of Facebook and it's privacy . We all know that most facebook-ers are stalkers , it just depend whether they are psychotic stalkers or a normal human being that just love to stalk on people and friends .

In either way , it's dangerous if our Facebook account privacy settings aren't set correctly . There could always be a crazy , insane (mostly jobless) person that will try to steal our identity or do something unattractive towards our identity .

Facebook have provided us with privacy settings and all , we can hide our about our information if we didn't like exposing it, we also can hide our pictures from public . But all of this did not mean that we can stop any identity theft from happening . Since our profile pic , eventhough it's in small size , it can be saved by anybody that have decided to visit our profile , and our names obviously are set to be seen by public, if not what's the reason you have an fb acc if you want to hide everything ?the FB team clearly give us rights on what to share what to not share , it's really up to us  but , I sometimes also afraid if somebody make a different acc by using our picture and name, this case have already  happened to my cousin since the myspace era . But luckily he can detect the person , and did not make a big deal out of it , since it harmless . But I still think it's dangerous because what if that theft identity( even by just using a picture of us and our name ) ,use our identity to post unnecessary and  inappropriate comments on something that we didn't even care about but could cause us being spread in the tabloids .

I and Facebook's Privacy Issue

From my personal view, Facebook's privacy issue is not a new things since Facebook is one of many social networks. Basically, social network user will share anything about them through their account or so-called profile page without aware that their personal information data and their images can be steal easily by hackers.
Despite with that, I'm still using social network like facebook n blogger but I'm really careful in sharing my personal information, so that, the risk of irresponsible individual to steal my personal information is lower.

Facebook's Privacy Issues

I have heard that for quite a while that Facebook have been having problems regarding its privacy before, though it mostly involves identity theft.
Truthfully, before this assignment was given, I have not heard about this major issue before.
Facial recognition technology is both helpful and risky at the same time, as demonstrated in the article where people have been using it to track down people with Facebook accounts. However, there's a good side to this as this technology could also help us identify whoever has been posing as ourselves online.
Despite this issue that has been going around, I would still use Facebook anyway. Facebook is my main source of communication between my friends, my group mates and also my family, as I prefer communicating with people through mediums rather than face-to-face in daily life.

Facebook Privacy's Issues

Talking about privacy issues, I'm guessing that not all social networks can protect the user's personal information fully. Sometimes, the systems itself doesn't function well. With a lot of expertise or first-class hackers out there, I don't think social networks these days are that safe anymore. A lot of cases happened due to this matter and it really concerns me in posting my personal information in the internet.

I heard from a friend that there's a case where there's a couple broke up their relationship due to personal matters and, the guy who seeks for revenge went through his ex-girlfriend's personal information in the Facebook; killed her through the address given in her account.

Not just that. I have a friend who has a Facebook account, her pictures in her album were all taken by some of our junior high school student who turns out to be her biggest fan. He stalks her (everyday I guess) and save every one of her pictures into his album without her knowing it. That's crazy , I tell you. In the end, she reported it to the right authorities. So, what do you think about this?

Facebook privacy issues!

I realize these days that hacking and privacy issues are arising especially through social networking. Facebook is one of those websites. I am aware that privacy is becoming more and more unprotected. Sometimes even a tagged photo could lead easily to a person's personal private life. Even adding information such emails in the profile , people are trying to hack in. It is hard for people to avoid Facebook because Facebook is the main social networking around the world.

There are some bad people out there are trying to ruin peoples life , but then it is not entirely Facebook security is at fault here , it is also because people usually provide some information without even noticing that their giving away something important. Facebook gave the security option , people has a choice whether to make it private , to add friends and also to block people . Facebook should also tighten the security by removing people who will interfere with the system. If it was me , i would not put any important infos even it is a email that leads to your bank account . People should be more careful rather than blaming without reason.

Topic 1 : ACT114A

ACT114A is an act where they arrest people to those who do false article , wrong doings and illegal stuff.

“A person whose name, photograph or pseudonym appears on any publication depicting himself as the owner, host, administrator, editor or sub-editor, or who in any manner facilitates to publish or re-publish the publication is presumed to have published or re-published the contents of the publication unless the contrary is proved.” – Act 114A

Why do they torture us this way? It is not like we did it on purpose , the internet is a huge network. It is suppose to be our own right and not how the government controls and stalks us everywhere we go. They must really reconsider this properly. This is really concerning on why are they doing the hard way that makes everybody plain angry. They are suppose to start small not start a war between people and the act. We Malaysians are free country , don't restrict our rights. What happen to innocent until proven guilty? Did it disappear? I know not everybody obeys the law , but at least give a proper one on how to control this . Planned it and consider our feelings if we get caught without us knowing why.

People's reaction towards ACT114

As much as we concern about how does this ACT114A affect us, this is how some people react towards the new Section 114(A) a.k.a Presumption of Fact in Publication.

What Rakyat respond?

The Internet Blackout day on Aug 14, 2012. Malaysians made history! It was only possible because of the thousands who used the tools provided by the open web to spread the information about Section 114A far and wide. The diversity and creativity of actions, from tweeting, posting on Facebook, designing banners and pictures, e-mailing, to even going offline the whole day, was outstanding! It shows that many actions of protest are possible and indeed, necessary.
The broad spectrum of people who came together also shows that this is an issue that cuts across political divides. Some tried hard to paint this citizen-initiated campaign as politically-motivated or influenced by partisan politics. In an extremely polarised political landscape like ours, initiatives such as the Internet Blackout Day are bound to get caught in the crossfire. To raise awareness about the detrimental impact of Section 114A of the Evidence Act.Another positive outcome is that a lot more Malaysians now realise how faulty our process of law-making is.If only consultation had taken place before the bill becomes law.
If only MPs — whether from BN or Pakatan, or the Independents — were given enough resources to look carefully at this law and their implications on the rakyat.
If only MPs were given enough time to debate this before they vote.
Fact is, there was zero consultation. Fact is, MPs are often badly stretched and under resourced. Fact is, we’ve seen more quality debate on Section 114A over the past few days than in Parliament when the bill was passed!
If we take our democracy and its processes seriously, it’s our individual responsibility to keep our lawmakers on their toes. It’s our responsibility to educate and inform ourselves of various laws and policies that affect us, something that  Malaysians  proved they were able to do. It’s also our responsibility to demand that out lawmaking process be consultative and transparent. We can’t mature as a democracy if laws are bulldozed through Parliament, only to have them withdrawn or discussed after much public protest.
For those who were skeptical about the efficacy of a 24-hour Internet-based protest, we support the idea that online action needs to be taken offline to effect lasting change.
The online community should also respond to the Cabinet decision to not review Section 114A, following the Prime Minister’s tweet in response to the popular online support for Internet Blackout Day.

What is ACT 114A?

Hi, readers! What is Act 114A and does it endangered us as Internet User in Malaysia? From my understanding about this issue, this act is about the arrest warrant to whom doing a wrongdoing such as spread or shared the negative ideology and negative thought or views through Internet.

However, this act seems to be wrong and injustice because not only wrongdoings Internet users but innocent internet users can be accused under this act if their internet connection or social network accounts had been misused by irresponsible internet users.

From my personal life, this act may affect me if my social network had been hacked or my WiFi connection had been misused by cyber criminals. But if I really be careful on handling my social network and WiFi connection, it's won't harm me yet I'm not a kind of person who share negative thought or views on my social network account, blogs or any kind services provided through Internet medium.

I'm really concern about this issue and government should discuss back about this act and if they wanted to do any kind of act which is included cyber space, I would prefer the government improvise the CyberSecurity department before planning to create this kind of act, so that, this act won't affect innocent internet users and CyberSecurity department able to identify the exact cyber criminals more accurately. This can make the act more fair and more acceptable to everyone.

ACT114A

                                                        source: http://www.tristupe.com/2012/08/what-is-act-114a.html

ACT114A is basically a new law that appoint whoever is the owner that are caught posting or publishing  unnecessary news  , article or etc under their account is going to be questioned even though they didn't do it . They also can be sued and lawyer ed , they will have to  face all the allegations until they are proven innocent.

ACT114A will obviously make my life a living hell if I'm ever caught in doing something that I didn't do . Being accused and have to face all the allegations , going in and of court is sure going to change my lifestyle and forever will change my perception on how the higher authorities manage our beloved country .

What matters to me is everything needs be based on the truth , not just because we own that account "we are the criminals" , it's so wrong , so for me , it does matter for us to stop this ACT114A before normal lives are destroyed because of this little thorns that are going through skins .

Should I be concerned ? Yes , I think I should , because I would never want this to be happened in my life , I would never want my resume to fill with this false allegations , I will go against this .ACT114A needs to be stopped because it is a biased rule .

ACT114A

From a source that I've read, I can summarize that ACT114A is an act that allows the arrest of owners of a property relating to the Internet, even if they didn't post the offending material. This act will cause the owners to be wrongly accused of spreading bad news regarding people of a higher power than them.

This act would not only invade my personal space on the Internet, but it will also cause other people to take advantage of my Internet properties and push the blame on me if they did any wrongdoings while using my Wifi, posting comments on my blog, uploading inappropriate files on websites and so on.

The seriousness of this act does matter as not only wrongdoer will find scapegoats to push the blame to, but can also be a form of oppression by the higher ups, such as the government and certain political movements.

The release of such an act should be of concern to everyone, as it highlights injustice over the citizens in favour over people of higher position and power, regardless of whether the people arrested committed the accused act in the first place.
